Visit

The nursery is on the historic Sunken Gardens restaurant property in Shiner, Texas. We share the location with the restaurant. The restaurant is a separate business — we don't publish their hours or menu here.

The restaurant on the property

The historic Sunken Gardens restaurant operates on the same property as a separate business. For their hours, menu, and reservations, see the restaurant directly (link to be added once we've coordinated with them).

Wide enough to show the building + the sign clearly. Daytime, no shadows on the sign.

The historic marker

Texas Historical Commission markers carry a lot of weight in small-town Texas. The marker on this property is part of why the site matters to Shiner. Photographing it well is one of the first jobs.

Pair it with the Spoetzl Brewery tour

Shiner is best known for the Spoetzl Brewery and its public tours. If you're already making the drive — from Houston, Austin, San Antonio, or the Hill Country — the brewery tour pairs naturally with a stop at the Sunken Gardens property: lunch at the restaurant, a walk through the nursery, a take-home pot or piece of garden art.

Tour times, ticket details, and tasting room info live on the brewery's own site, not ours. We'll link to their official source when this page is ready to publish.

Coming from out of town

Shiner is in Lavaca County, South-Central Texas, roughly between Houston and San Antonio along US-90A. The town is small and walkable. Parking is usually easy. More specific directions and a property map post once the soft opening is set.
